Why /g/ hates this distro?

same reason why windows is hated
it just werks, and we (engineering types) wants to fix stuff, if it's already working it's boring
>>62249622
>just another ubuntu distro
They got owned, and in turn served out compromised ISOs.
There are no real reasons to use this distro, even cinnamon has been ported to practically every other major distro and the 'it just works' feature it had years past is no longer as compelling.

It may work, but it's a poorly thrown together mess of hacks and security issues. This is my only real issue with it. For your own sake, consider using Debian or Ubuntu instead. Mint is a disaster waiting to happen.
cinnamon looks outdated as hell
Xubuntu is better in literally every possible way.

>install debian gnome
ugly as fuck, not even usable
>install debian mate
ugly as fuck, full of shit
>install ubuntu
unity is simply impossible to use
>install mint mate
literally perfect

It's called crippling autism and lack of competence.
The engineering types are not here, chances are they are busy being engineers.

I don't understand why you would think that the appearance of a DE on one distro is exclusive to that distro. You do understand that they're packaging the same thing, right? And that DE's are generally configurable?
And your post doesn't even address >>62249766's argument.
>>62249675
No, windows is hated because it spyies on its users, not because it twerks.

>Mint is a disaster waiting to happen.
I believe you meant to say that Mint is a disaster that has already happened.

And that's just their website. If they're too incompetent to even their user's BB accounts, how well do you think they can manage what is essentially a glorified Ubuntu respin with a flagrant disregard for licensing? As if Ubuntu wasn't bad enough what with ZoL.

this
I have a question about alternative.
Well, linux mint has a nice tool called "Driver Manager".
It automatically detects and installs drivers for your system.
There is any alternative on other distros? Mostly i look for debian version
It's ubuntu with an extra repo for some of the gui components.

>and that's just their website.
Exactly.
Wordpress security issues aren't mint issues. And mint isn't the only distro that's had a associated website hacked.
Failed distro, distributed malware due to security flaws, doesn't add anything over it's upstream but wallpaper, Sad!
