Is this the best mouse ever made

No...I have a perfect condition one from about 02-03, as well as a IME 3.0 from 02, in excellent condition, and while they are ergonomically great, and the sensor is very precise and "raw", if you use one for anything above say 1920x1080 (and even then that's a stretch) you will be struggling to swipe accurately and quickly enough in games (I had let a friend borrow my EC2-A, and was struggling in PUBG with one of these at 2560x1440).

For basic browsing use, they are perfectly fine, as is just about any mouse.

Microsoft mice have a great sensor but garbage shell/cable. That said if you just want a good mouse without spending $50+, then WMO/IME is obviously the best choice.
