Depends to be honest what you're doing.
I'd suggest Debian/CentOS or a copy of Winblows that you're used to.

I have a R2 and a CentOS server for my files.
My FTP is Debian based and I have a yunohost for my close friends that wants privacy and trust me.

You could look into Yunohost as your first "server"/NAS.

It's really fun.
But after a while I'd suggest you to go in a real Distro. Yunohost is purely to make life easier and convenience doesn't always come with security.

Processor is pretty old and is my bottleneck but it still runs newer games at 60FPS so I'll stick with it for a while longer.

If I did have to upgrade, I want the Ryzen processors, but I'd have to buy a new MB that works with AM4 and DDR4 RAM.
