The future, the best one is everyone being treated as "idea machines".
You go to work, you take your learning pills, you learn about what you're researching, then you take the creativity boosting pills, brainstorm until you come with the best idea you can, you submit it and the 10.000 other people tackling the same subject do the same, and then the company pick the best 3 ones, patent em and you get paid nothing for it, just for the brain crunching time.
Then you wait on the waiting room until the effects of the "creativity boosting drug" go off (because it's basically some super powered version of LSD), and you go home and entertain yourself.
