All I know is the European keyboard sucks.
>>
Why does that right option even exist? It is horrible by any standard. I have rejected laptops for the sole reason of having such a keyboard.
>>
I've been looking for a decent keyboard with the "bigass" enter key, preferably with ANSI-like layout.
Any good stores in yuropoor union?
>>
>>62216609
Like other keyboard standards: because IBM.
IBM shipped keyboards with the big L-shaped enter for some time so it became a de facto standard.

Doesn't sound that bad when considering how often i've accidentally hit backspace or enter on ansi layout keyboards. Always preferred ISO layout keyboards. You get an extra key too.
>>
>>62216698
i never, not even once in my life hit the left / on the iso layout. Not only accidentally, but at all. Smaller l_shift works better on rubber domes though imo.
>>
>>62216778
kek, even posted the wrong slash, proves how much i ignore the key.

Unless you're actually retarded, that never happens. Anyhow, you should give in to the ultimate layout: German ISO with LGBT lighting

You need differently sized keys to divide up the keyboard for touch typing.

Anyone who dislikes big enter buttons is a hunt and peck faggot
>>
European layouts are horrible for programming/anything related. Brackets, etc. are behind Shift-8, AltGr-8 or some other retarded shit. One of my best decisions was to switch from Nordic layout to ANSI US. Thank you USA

A big enter doesn't mean you have to cripple the backspace key. You could move the backslash key next to right shift instead.

ISO = recognized default industry standard across the world

ANSI = only America uses this shitty layout, exactly like their imperial unit system that no one besides them also use.

I wish Nixon would've actually gone through with the conversion to metric when he had the chance
>>
>>62217423
if it's the default industry standard then why is it so awful

A mile is 5280 feet, which converts to 1,609.344 meters, Ahmed. Metric just chooses to be confusing.

You don't need some super tall key just to hit enter, and fuck having a tiny backspace or left shift key

B-but my 6Gv2 has both a big ass enter and a large backspace. I'd rather have a proper ANSI layout, though. Having a single row enter is fine with me.

Going from Eu layout to Us layout I experienced the opposite of these issues

> Attempt to hit enter
> Hit \ instead
> Try to type \ or |
> Nothing happens because I just tapped the shift key

I suppose it's all a matter of preference and what you're used to.
Personally I've found I'm enjoying the Us layout a lot more.

Neo2 is the pinnacle of layouts. You can type like 70% of the most common words without even moving your fingers from the home row.
Also the navigation layer. Layoutlets don't know what they are missing
>>
I wish there was a keyboard layout with all the types of brackets on two keys.
>>
>>62231306
Make your own layout.
>>
>use alternative layout (neo) at work
>work on something together with CTO

>he gets on the phone with CEO a few minutes afterwards to talk about something different entirely
>"did you know that anon uses a different keyboard layout? I know right? Impressive how he tries to optimize his productivity"
>get renewal of contract and a over 10% raise a few weeks later

where were you when your autism helped you for once in your life?
