Hello /g/entlemen, tech illiterate fag here
I bought a single 4gb RAM module for my desktop but I seem to have gotten the smaller size one which is in the bottom of pic related
Thus, I am unable to close the latches while inserting the RAM stick and also my other RAM stick is the one with the bigger dimensions as shown in the top portion of pic related
Can anyone tell me what are these form factors called?

never had issue on normal slots with either one, the normal one and the smaller one
both work fine
bump
please halp
>>62201404
wait, so I can insert the smaller one?
do I need to put more force? I'm afriad I'll break the latches
plus, it looks like the grooves are above the latches
>>62201404
So I can insert the smaller one in a slot for the big one?
>>62201372
maybe its some low profile model.
>>62201372
Show us a picture, sometimes RAM can be very stiff to insert and needs some force to click it in.

picture of what?

Of your sick, fagget

Phrasing

here
>>62202137
and this is the RAM stick I wanna insert
>>62202154
just open them and put the ram stick in. you should press it from the corners so it locks there
I can insert the ram fine but the problem is that the latches won't close
>>62202380
if the pins are in the same place it should work (doesn't look like it though)
just buy new stick, 4gb is piss cheap.
>>62202380
try to push harder if its inserted correctly. idk why you got low profile ram for a non mitx meme pc.
>>62202380
Open the latches again, can you not see that the PCB on the ram are self blocking via the motherboard latches preventing the ram from further going in?
>>62201433
i would break the latches, its only plastic
do you have warranty on the mobo ?
>>62202380
Looking at the coding gap you can clearly see that the RAM
- is the correct one
- but not inserted deep enough
>>62202532
>>62202603
It's not going in any further
well boot it up and if it doesnt werk just plug em out
>>62202780
you mean without closing the latches
>>62202380
Press with brute force
>>62202930
And if you're afraid of causing damage to the motherboard because the area underneath the RAM slots isn't supported, slide a wooden pencil or something similar underneath to brace it.
