My Chromebook lasted me for 2 years of CS.
I just had to install GalliumOS.
It was the Toshiba Chromebook 2 (swanky). N2840, 4 gigs of RAM, a superb 1080p screen, 16 gigs emmc...
I even managed to run my ray tracer on it... It just took some time.
Anyway, such a "low specs" PC was more than enough.
But I was tired of Linux breaking itself all the time and the thing was laggy when using Android Studio.
Conclusion : Any lightweight shitty laptop will do the trick.
