Hi /g/
I want to try a rolling release distro because i dont want to reinstall or upgrade my system everytime there is a new version. I was thinking about Fedora Rawhide, because i like to use the newest stuff and i would like to use the newest version of gnomeshell. But i have my doubts as im not sure if its stable enough. Do you guys have any experience with it? If its not stable then might use debian sid (which may not be stable too and it still doesnt have the newest gnomeshell) or opensuse tumbleweed. I dont want to use arch or gentoo because they sound like a meme to me but prove me wrong if you have time and want to. Feel free to discuss rolling realise distros in my thread please, it would be a lot of help to me

Rawhide is not for ordinary mortals.
It's for Fedora developers to test packages and it breaks often.

Rolling release distros aimed at users are Arch or Tumbleweed.

Came here to say this. Keeping regular Fedora upgraded is a minor pain in the ass, keeping Rawhide working at all past two updates (not even upgrades) is a miracle of nature.

Otherwise, other anons have it. Gentoo or Arch

You should check out, Solus or Tubmleweed. I used them both. Solus is very well made and incredible fast. It lacks server software in the repo like apache2, nginx, mariadb and so on. However it has snap and flatpak included as well as docker. It's designed for desktop usage from ground up. Solus is lightweight, fresh and fast. Tumbleweed is a more complete distro including all the server software you need in the repos, unlike Solus. It's powerful tools like YaST, OBS and snapper, which is a great rescue tool, it automatically makes a read-only snapshot which you can boot from and restore if you fucked up. This is just to name a few. Tumbleweed is not as fast as Solus, it's a much bigger distro. I prefer Tumbleweed for my desktop.. Both are good. Arch is not worth the time imo, it's not very well designed imo. I like the idea of Gentoo but only spend very little time with it, as compiling software feels like wasted time for my usage.
