I am liking my new WankBook Pro...I haven't had a Mac laptop since my 700mhz iBook G3 in 2001ish.

It's snappy as fuck and the battery life lives up to the advertised 10 hours.

Word to the wise though I'm not using it for anything other than a bit of media consumption, web browsing, Second Life and light gaming (I have a 6700k/1080 VR beast for gaming).

So yeah the MacBook Pro 2017 as a bedside companion and out of the house portable does the trick. I really like it and it integrates nice into my life with my iPhone etc.

I'd never use Macs full time though. Fuck no.

I think my biggest problem by far with Apple is that they force you to complete what should be simple tasks in really unnecessarily complex, obtrusive or tedious ways. This is a problem that applies to almost every product Apple has ever made.

Still, I think the hatred for them is a little exaggerated.

I don't believe that. My sister's MacBook Pro has probably the shittiest battery I've ever seen in a computer. You can literally watch the percentage go down approximately every 10 seconds.

It's a nice computer otherwise, but don't lie. The battery life is terrible and the 10 HR claim is false advertisement.

I go back and forth between a macbook air and a thinkpad x230

Macos is nice and all but I can't tell if I like it simply because the resolution is so much better than the shitty thinkpad screen.

That said, if macos had a proper tiling window manager I would switch.
