I mean, its like buying a thinkpad without the whole sentiment behind buying a thinkpad behind it.

if you want a less nokia model for a laptop, why not just ditch thinkpad at that point and get a normal laptop?

They give you a good keyboard and similar internal hardware specs as their big brothers, while costing significantly less.

The only real downside to them is allegedly the build quality, though my E460 isn't showing any issues on that front.

The keyboard alone makes the Thinkpad E series better than the competition. You just need to make sure you find it in a desirable configuration or buy from Lenovo directly (for 1080p IPS, etc).

I have them at work (I'm the IT support guy), they suck - not spillproof, shit support, cheap parts (i.e ADATA SSDs instead of intels) and cheaply made - plastic everywhere. Do not recommend.

The plastic is of very poor quality in Edges. Expect the hinge screw holes crumble after 6 months.
