Python has the most beginner support but it's also probably one of the most versatile languages
>>

Rust

C. Too many abstractions and compiler-help makes my think dink hurt.

>>
>>62157830
There's no brainlet firendly language, the easiest ones for beginner would be something like Python or Ruby.
>>
>>62157830
Java is easy for brainlets and can help brainlets build a strong enough foundation to not be programming brainlets anymore and move on to better languages
>>
>no BASIC
Gotta love neo-/g/

t. Pajeet

But seriously, I kinda agree.

Blitz BASIC

Visual Basic or Python
>>

Ruby

None worth learning. That said all very popular languages are made for pretty average people.

I'm not even kidding.
>>

Yeah, that doesn't work.
>>
>>62157878
i've heard GO is good for brainlets, is it easier than python?
>>
>>62158003
>is it easier than python
Absolutely, it has no useful features that you might have trouble understanding.
Going from zero to printing text is definitely slightly faster in Python.
But if you look at the language as a whole then for every feature or concept in Go, Python has at least five.

Is golang good for automation tasks like python is? What are their respective use cases?

>>
>>62158241
>Is golang good for automation tasks like python is?
Probably not.

>What are their respective use cases?
>Go
You're a brainlet or you're working with brainlets or you need brainlets to be able to understand your code.
>Python
You need to get shit done quickly and execution speed is not a concern.

>>62158281
Go.
>>
>>62157987
It's not bad because it's old, it's bad because literally nobody is using it anymore.
>>
>>62158346
I'm just talking simple scripts, like say I wanted to write something to automate syncing ebooks with my kindle, I know I can do this with python, can I also do it with Go?
>>
>>62158393
>can I also do it with Go
Yes.
>is it a good idea
Probably not.
>>
>>62158405
Why? Would it be harder to do in Go or something?
>>
>>62158439
You need to setup an environment and build the thing. The program itself would also very likely end up being a lot more verbose.
If all you need is a short script then making it in Go really makes no sense.
>>
>>62157830
Lisp, Lua, Forth, golang and C.
Simple one-shot languages, no advanced concepts to graps beyond one one-size-fits-80% feature.
>>
>>62158484
Thanks buddy, guess I'll stick with Python for now.
>>
>>62157888

these are actually not brainlet-friendly to use effectively

Freebasic is quite nice.

Go is for brainlets.
Go is also not for writing short scripts.
>>
>>62158549
assembly isn't binary dumbdumb.

I took a programming class in high school and we used QuickBASIC. The teacher was an old timer, he talked about stealing printing credits in university with a fake login screen written with Fortran.

brainlet here, Python

Learn Go, in a few years time it'll be the highest demand language.

Ruby
nicest community, nicer than phython by far
>>
>>62160382
I read that learning Python will make me a better programmer in general than learning Ruby because it's more verbose, true or false?

It's outdated and horrifically slow in many non-maths parts
PLUS it's proprietary
>>
>>62161245
Not the language's fault you're too stupid to into maths.
>>
I'm a fucking idiot and I learned C, idk OP I recommend C
>>
>>62161143
>is matlab bad?
it's alright for engineering purposes
people complain because they try to do things it's not well suited for I guess

being proprietary is a problem I agree, but there's a free / open source analog

>>62161245
There is a FOSS matlab which exists, GNU Octave, and it has an IDE very similar to MATLABs IDE

obviously this doesn't come with the simulink benefits, and the tool boxes are not as developed as MATLABs, but for most purposes it should be effectively the same
>>
>>62157830
PHP, some n00bs will tell you Python but they are full of shit, took me like 2yrs to get comfy with Python after PHP.

PHP is for people who have no ability to do system setup / processes and can't into object orientation.

>>62161571
So? It's the most complex language of them all, it's extremely difficult for foreigners to learn because of variance in sounds and exceptions to rules. English isn't the brainlet language, Spanish is.

English is one of the hardest languages to learn, everything is so ambiguous. Especially pronunciations. It's what happens when you mix four different families of languages together.

does not mean english is complex, like german. it is just a shitty language, with poor grammar and fucking terrible pronunciation.
