Yep. I use as my daily driver!
>>
>>62156681
It is the perfect balance between bloat and usability.
>>
>>62156681
I don't use it, but what's wrong with it? It does it's job.
>>
>>62156681
Look at LXDE. It's ugly as fuck. Now jump one level up in resource usage and you've got XFCE, which resembles Windows 7 enough to not bleed your eyes out. THAT'S WHY IT'S GOOD
>>
>>62156681
it jus werks!
srsly tho I find it to be very functional and and nice looking without using too many resources
>>
>>62156696(ME)

>>62156681

I can make xfce look however I want it to look, I love that. My current fetish is retro os 9. I have this same exact setup on my thinkpad.
>>
>>62156681
It's very good and easy to use. It's the only DE that lets you make launchers to specific files by default, without having to fuck around the terminal and/or config files.
>>
>>62156681

yeh xfce is meme

its ugly and i cant tell any performance issues when i just use cinnamon on old / gimped hardware
>>
I used Xfce and a few themes to make the desktop for my ThinkPad look like a cross between Windows 9x and CDE. Looks nice, and stays out of the way.
>>
>>62156973
Yea, this.
Cinnamon runs just fine off 1gb of ram.
>>
>>62156973
Idling at desktop, I only use 227 MB of RAM.

My university uses it

Yes. I use it.

And I've been (ab)using it for years and years.

What I like most about XFCE is that it DOES NOT BOTHER ME or try to nanny me and it functions like I expect it to and it does what it is supposed to do and nothing else.

Liek, I tried GNOME 3. Clicked a terminal icon and got a terminal. Then I wanted a second terminal so I clicked the terminal icon again and it took me back to the same terminal. Like wtf?And then there was this whole "you can't use more than one window at a time" "design". I very quickly gave up and went back to XFCE.

I should mention that I have a bit of a bias since I'm used to it and therefore have a very easy time using it while I don't know the alternatives very well. Perhaps someone who never used XFCE wouldn't like it.

Xfwm4 improved its built-in compositor to fix tearing in the git master branch, waiting for release.
It's being ported to GTK3 for high DPI support.

Stop spreading your misinformation, retard.

Xfce is just outdated and shitty.
And KDE...are fucking serous?

I can make a launcher to any file very easily, whereas anything GNOME based requires you to fuck around with config files or terminal.
Both have screen tearing, Xfce's can be fixed without causing graphical glitches.
Both are equally "light", Xfce is more functional and thus beats it. Same reason why LXDE is shit.
It's much more user friendly overall.
>>
>>62166024
>I can make a launcher to any file very easily, whereas anything GNOME based requires you to fuck around with config files or terminal.
Don't know what you are talking about. I can make a launcher from any file in MATE too.
>Both have screen tearing, Xfce's can be fixed without causing graphical glitches.
Never had this problem to begin with. But I use normies Ubuntu MATE with Compiz where this issue could've been already solved by devs of the distro.
>Both are equally "light", Xfce is more functional and thus beats it. Same reason why LXDE is shit.
Agree about LXDE but how is Xfce more functional?
>It's much more user friendly overall.
Got to agree on this one. Some things in MATE weren't obvious in the beginning.
