because it was cheaper you stupid fuck.
>>
>>62153580
Really makes you think, doesn't it?
>>
It's pointless to waste money on VR until there is enough content to justify the cost

The cardboard fufills 99% of the VR gimmick before it wears off. The other options just drain your wallet before you realize it was just a gimmick.

Consumers couldnt afford it and there was no software for consumers on top ofit.

Initial purchases were mostly commercal with the intent to either develop for it or explore its use outside of gaming.

>$10 sells better than ~$600

Besides that, VR turned out to be yet another meme.
The technology could be good, but people are just making demo unity crap with it.

Also like with the Wii they include those shitty motion controls into everything.

>>A literal fucking cardboard sells x80 more
gee
I wonder how a 100 times cheaper product sell more
>>
The price.
The fact that no gpu can max out games at stable framerates.
>>
Intel slapping "VR Ready" on the boxes of their latest overprice spaceheaters is pretty much the nadir of the entire VR mess "experience".
>>
>>62153681
what about all these startup projects and the billions thrown to VR development? It makes you see that the market is just not interested on in, other than playing 5 minutes and having the "WOW" experience. It gets boring/ not interesting after that
>>
>>62153580
>sheeps: "VR IS FINALLY HERE! THE FUTURE"
>everyone with a working brain: "VR is just a meme"
>sheeps: "SAYS THE POORFAGS, I'LL ENJOY THE VR"

Time later and here we are, with VR being used by only enthusiasts that loves to burn money at the newest shinny thing, while the rest of people interested just buy the cheapest cardboard because they know it still delivers.

VR is nothing but a meme, a proof of concept. Vermins can only "play" stuff that feels more as a demo than a finished product, and the rest is just 360° video that you can still enjoy with the cardboard without sacrificing something.
>>
turns out VR is just a gimmick and most people just want to play with a controller
>>
>>62153580
cardboard is enough to watch some porn, that's like 80% of the VR utilization
