What is the point of your arguments though? If it works for me and can perform all the tasks I need it for, celeron is alright. What are you trying to prove here? If it gets the job done I see no point of buying something else. 1024x768 is also enough in 99 percent of stuff I do, because I live in CLI pretty much all the time anyway.

My laptop. I wish I had a comfy 1024x768 as well. Bunsen is nice but I'm concerned about it's reliance on Debian 8. Is it ever going to switch to 9?

Just good enough to browse 4ch (but I wasn't able to find anything lighter than firecuck that had JS support) and the rest of the net with Dillo (most of the pages doesn't need JS at all and it is just blazingly fast). Other things include mostly programming, compiling and astro-related stuff. SkyCat and gimp for my astronomy needs combined with apcalc and mathomatic make quite a nice combination.
Also for my research on randomness and random number generation. I haven't got time to try it yet, but I think I could use it for sdr too instead of my other pc.

I was running WindowMaker before on this laptop for years, but I decided to give it a change and a bit of more modern look on the desktop.

Windows is alright when you need easy compatibility with hardware, games and stuff like general day to day stuff that doesn't require much security and you are willing to accept being constantly telemetrized in whatever you do. W7 and anything else than Edge/IE would be a better choice in your place, Anon.
