>laptops will never ever be able to do this again

Integrating is the future. In 10 year, everything will be one component
>>62144360
Well, the two-screw keyboard of more modern Thinkpads isn't far off.
>>62144360
if you want that back then be prepared for 1.5" thick laptops again as well
>>62144550
I'm fine with thicc laptops as long as they aren't too large. Maybe bring back 4:3 to maximize the screen realestate in an overall slightly smaller form factor.

>Maybe bring back 4:3 to maximize the screen realestate in an overall slightly smaller form factor.
that doesn't work out so well either, depending on the size of course but you will probably end up with a skinny laptop and it would be hard to fit a full size keyboard on it
>consequences will never be the same

4:3 lets you get more height out of the same width, which can sometimes be desirable. Widescreen gets you the smallest overall footprint but you start sacrificing usability past a point.
Man, what the fuck ever happened to IBM...?
>>62144612
Got muscled out of their own market with PC compatibles, then gave up entirely on consumer-facing industries.
>>62144612
Anti-trust suites crippled them.
I think I jsut came
>>62144360
They can though if you look for the right one
Dell's insprion line is one screw disassembly
Elitebooks are still toolless
Most of the worthwhile thinkpads are still 5-6 screws
Yes, I'm really missing this. Opening it up and staring at the hard drive several times a day - after all, isn't that what a laptop is truly for.
kys autismo
Thicccc laptops are much cuter.
Whoever pushed the thin meme should be skinned alive with three dragon dildos up their ass.
The thin tech meme has gone too far. Laptops from 5 years ago or phones from 3 years ago were in no way "too thick"
Are batteries that expensive or something? I'm surprised a company doesn't release a modern phone with like iphone 4 thickness dimensions and advertise some crazy battery life.
>>62145275
I have this and the battery lasts me a week. It isn't even THAT thick.
>>62145297
>a week
Shut up nerd I mean normal human usage.
>>62145275
This a thousand times. Hell, this would be fine if not for the fact that all you can get is thinn meme stuff. There's nothing that's too thicc about a T420 for most purposes for instance and I'd rather not take the hit to I/O, cooling, battery and hardware to facilitate shaving a few millimetres off it.

Crazy how Lenovo managed to have a fugly Android skin chink brand coexist with an amazing stock Android "Western" brand.
>>62145355
They're the same company that somehow makes some pretty legit good modern Thinkpads and the worst Ideapad chinkpads on the market.
I don't get it either.
