You don't speak for everyone, if you don't care about having control over your system that's on you. But others like being able to and it's pretty narrow-minded of you to assume W10 is perfect based on your view of how an operating system should be.

Respects your freedom, isn't bloated, quicker security patches, open source, isn't dependent upon a company to exist, won't lock updates away from you if you aren't running the latest hardware/software, better communication between devs and the community resulting in a better OS overall, complete and total control, over your software, runs better on older hardware, uses less system resources overall, uses less hard drive space, etc

The ability to go into, under any version of the system, options and disable setting x, and keep that setting disabled. Or the ability to put off updates, indefinitely, again under any version of the OS, with a simple box uncheck or something similar. As far as I know, MS treats their users like children, and reenables those things after a certain number of days, or wherever it feels like it.

I can never go without something like BTRFS or ZFS ever again.

I have lost one piece of one file in my massive data hoard and I recognized exactly what it was because my filesystem told me it was botched.
You have the option to secure your data against rot rather than let some organization take away hundreds of gigs because your pro license doesn't qualify for such integrity.

Plus it doesn't thrash my HDDs because it is very transparent about I/O usage instead of clobbering it all under a mysterious "system.exe"

same as above for keyboard/mice
>>
>>62140545
They changed the default behavior of services in 10, each service now gets its own svchost.exe process instead of 10+ services being contained in a single service host. This means that one service crashing can't take out a million other services with it. The only reason it wasn't like that by default already is because it's an old system and what is now a miniscule amount of overhead would have been detrimental on low-resource systems of the day. This does mean you'll have potentially a lot more processes running but it improves stability and you aren't going to notice a couple of mibibytes of overhead.
>>
>>62140715
Good suggestion, I ended up finding some update-related task that was set to wake the computer to run. But word is, these things just reset themselves whenever they feel like it.

Remember when the OS was our friend?
>>
>>62140804
You can disable wake timers in power options. Apparently doesn't work for windows update related things but should prevent other tasks from waking your PC.

Mr. Rasheed. Take a look at this tiny amount of MegaBytes programs actually use. It doesn't even add up to 720MB.
Even if it would add up to this amount you still have 2GB for OS only.
