Hi /g/
I am looking to spend £1,000 on a gaming machine and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations? I want to play games like Overwatch, WoW, PUGB,CSGO.
Also pic related - it's my friends £9,000 chill blast machine (or so he says...)

unless he has a 150-170tb nas hookes up to this this is not £9000
anyways build a ryzen 1600x+16GB ddr4+gtx 1070 rig

i built that for him. £7,000 was my fee.

this is most fucking stupid build I've seen today
Your friend is bullshitting very HARD unless he put in very expensive SSDs from samsung or intel. If you're going to play games like those you won't really need a good computer, just an ok cpu and good gpu

I thought Ryzen sucked for gaming
or is that a meme?

What the fuck kind of games do you play where you're bottlenecked by CPU?
Yes, Intel seems to generally have better single-core performance. But the differences are something along the lines of 190fps on a skylake, and 180fps on a ryzen. Do you have a 240Hz monitor or something?
Anyway, Ryzen provides you with those 180fps but it has much better single-core performance. So if you ever decide you wanna fuck about with something that can make use of that (such as hosting a server to play with your friends), Ryzen is the better choice by far.
Oh and it's cheaper last I checked

it's a meme pushed by intel shills. ryzen 1600 is currently the best value CPU.
>Overwatch
>CSGO
>PUGB

why hasn't anyone linked www.logicalincrements.com?
Did they do anything bad in the last year or so since I might have missed that then.

The CPU does have meme status on this board.
Also yes, very bad for gaming

Technically its not the best. The i7-7700k currently provides the best single thread performance which most games utilize to have higher framerates. Although it seems that games are now starting to use more than four cores which the i7-7700k has but Ryzen 1600 and above offer more(6 cores and 8 cores).
So its your choice. Although the 8700k will be coming out soon™ which offers the 7700k single thread performance and about 10% less multi thread performance Ryzen 1800x offers.

I think this is sligtly more than £1,000, but its all high quality parts suitable for the games you listed, with maximum performance.
I guess you don't play those titles at 4K anyways so a 1070 is perfect.
