And?
>>
How fast does it have to be before I don't see any mouse ghosting? 144Hz here and it annoys me.
>>
>>62106094
whats your response time?
>>
>>62106136
specs say 4ms
>>
>>62106161
250Hz is the max refresh rate you could get before your panel literally could not even keep up with any moving picture
Set your mouse speed to absolute minimum, I bet you won't see ghosting then
>>
>>62106225
>Having to lift the mouse to move from one side of the screen to the other.
No thanks.
>>
>>62106225
To be even safer in ensuring you don't see mouse ghostong, you shou'd just make the cursor icon invisible. Also fixes >>62106252.
>>
>>62106161
that might be reason for it
>>
>>62106094
How fast what? Moving your mouse or display panel refreshing?
>>62106225
What? Can you rephrase it in human language?
>>62106252
I think he is not talking about DPI, but usb refresh rate.

Get a desk-sized mousepad
>>
>>62106278
He is actually talking about DPI. You have to move your hand more -> cursor moves slowly -> don't see the ghosting.
>>
>>62106368
>20-30 seconds to move mouse from left to right side of display @ 1440p
>>
>>62106094
Ghosting and high refresh rate are two different metrics

You could use a shitty 240Hz screen and still see ghosting

It's caused by the display taking time to go from white to black and vice versa
>>
>>62106438
Ah I remember seeing that about b2b. Hmm. Guess mine is not fast enough. I wonder if OLED can fix that.

No.
To completely eliminate ghosting, you would need infinite refresh rate, low persistence display with infinite frame rate source.
>>
>>62106566
Correction:
To just eliminate ghosting, all you need is very low persistence display.
How low? Well, you can see the ghosting even on crt, with phosphor persistence of 1ms. So even lower than that.
>>
>>62106566
How would that eliminate ghosting if ghosting also happens IRL?

SNAKES IN YOUR FACE!

>>
>>62106706
Talking about fast moving objects in your periphery?
It's not a real ghosting, it's just an illusion created by your shitty analogue eyes.
>>
>>62106760
The same shitty analogue eyes that will be looking at the infinitely fast display. How would that make a difference?
>>
>>62106786
There will be no difference between real life and display, in a sense.
RL ghosting is not real, it's just an illusion, ghosting on the display on the other hand is very real thing.
>>
>>62106566
You just need low persistence. Ghosting by definition refers to the lingering color after a refresh so refresh rate has nothing to do with it. You can actually get rid of ghosting completely by strobing, which is what some gaming monitors do (or have a feature for anyway)
>>
>>62107255
Yeah, it was a mistake. I corrected myself in >>62106688
Was thinking about other thing initially.
>>
>>62107255
>you can get rid of ghosting completely by strobing
Not completely. You can see it even on crt with 1ms phosphor persistence.
It's not that obvious, but ghosting is still there.
