This. Arch is ok, but dont use kali or parrotOS. Encourages an understanding of the system, but hacker distros are just giving script kiddies tools they dont know how to use. You might use 5 of their 300 tools, so you are better off just installing them youself.

Also, if you are interested in pentesting, the most important thing will be a network card thats compatible with the tools you use.

I got my W520 Thinkpad for $300. Its old as fuck but sturdy as a rock. Im probably getting a new laptop soon.

i use a macbook air from around 2011 i7 1.8ghz cpu, i use around 10 tools that kali provides on it and it serves its purpose, no normie shit on there..also have a dell latitude i5 that runs kali which i use occasionally but its a little laggy of late.

A Chromebook with an Intel CPU, buying a budget Windows laptop means it's going to have shit build quality because they have to squeeze things like the Windows license into the low price
