because reflections aren't much of an issue for many people. It's as easy as that.
Many use it as a desktop replacement just on the spot where their old monitor used to be. Others use it in their garden and don't sit in the blazing sun, but in the shadow of a tree/their home.
And most professional use will be in buildings which are specifically designed so that the workers and their screens aren't exposed to too much sunlight.

Using a laptop wherever you are, especially on the train/the car as a passenger is a shit dead meme. Nobody does it and it's the only reason matte screens made sense, ever.

Also fuck matte, digitizer is a much better feature and far too few models use it.
