Overlooking is brain dead use, just spend for minutes looking at guides. Best to purchase a third party cooler for stable and cooler OC but I heard the stock is ok so just monitor the temos

The whole issue I have with the 1200 is that you seem to have to oc it, which I find a little scary because like I said it's my first build. Although I've read that the 1300x is basically the same processor but oc by default.

Not that anon, but I would recommend the ASRock B350 pro4. Both the full ATX sized and matx version are good. Also usually cheaper than the MSI one.

Check if the cpu temps are okay when gaming. Also check if the mobo didn't increase the voltage to a ludicrous setting.
I have no idea what save voltages/temps are for a 1200 but that's something to google.

Man you don't really need to oc. Install and enjoy your cpu. Some time later, when you are comfortable with it, take your time and read about oc, not here, go to a specialized site like overclock.net there people will welcome newbies and guide you around inf you need.
