i can't decide /g/....
ultrawide or 5k monitor?
>ultrawide is clearly the ratio of the future
>but the contrast/brightness/clarity is shit compared to the 5k monitor
>5k is gorgeous
>but also feels tiny as shit once you've used an ultrawide

the ultrawide feels dim as hell now that i have the 5k side-by-side
the 5k is also only at half brightness also, and its already brighter than the ultrawide

Or
>Ultra Meme
Dunno op, seems like a losing proposition either way you cut it
Whats the point of having 5k again aside from gayming?

5k gaming seems terrible as no computers can really process that smoothly yet
the display is much clearer and easier to read, HQ images/videos really shine and all the videos you used to think were good quality start to show their aging

It's ridiculously sharp.
Not that there is a point, you'll be hard pressed to notice the additional sharpness compared to 4K.
1440p is still the best since it's low enough to use at 27" without any scaling but still gives you all the working space you need.
whichever can go above 100Hz

Wait a few more years.
Ultrawides being a generation behind seems to be a continuing trend.
>>62059809
Buy an 8k monitor instead.
>>62059809
buy a 5120 x 2160 monitor when they are released

5k is not good for gaming. 5k is a good resolution for productivity related to 4k content because you can fit the entire k4 view and have room for menues.
For gaming you want 1080p or 4k. Anything else and you run into scaling and support issues.

but if you HAD to pick one right now... which would you go for?
i know the ultrawides are going to improve significantly in the future
