Uptime thread
had it up for about a month, but it ran out of charge
using a moto z play w/ tumi powermod so it doesn't happen often

how do i find this?

4 days here.

On Android you can install Termux and them pkg install screenfetch. Or just type uptime. The latter also works on pretty much any Linux distro.
literally a few days after I first set it up and installed some extra packages
serious question: why long uptime matter? I mean, seems no kernel updates that make os to reboot and no strategies to mitigate it. Nothing like clustering, distributed systems, balanced servers, replication, whatever...., only one untouchable server, please can you explain?
>>62057558
why does your apt-get has no output though
>>62057558
Is uptime supposed to be interesting ? As soon as I saw some security updates required some reboot I setup a script to reboot if necessary at 3am. Happrns every 2-3 weeks. Am I dumb?

Unless you never update your kernel. Having a high value in `uptime` is a massive wank. It'd be better to be posting startup times; like `systemd-analyze`.

You can do kernel updates without rebooting by using kexec.

Why not go further and use a terminal as launcher?
>>62065343
kexec is effectively a form of reboot. You can patch your kernel with live patching (kgraft or ksplice) which actually has zero downtime.

I once ran neofetch on my phone's Termux and remained surprised at having left my phone up for like 2 months. Fact is I don't turn it off, just switch it to airplane mode or alarm clock doesn't work, but it's not really healthy, sometimes it starts screwing up when it's been on for too long.

what does it even mean :3
