/g/, is there a point in learning mobile development this late in the game? Are these apps even selling or is the goal of mobile programmers to get a job developing apps for someone else?
Also, is it better to learn android or ios development? Which language and/or environment is the way to go these days?
It's not worth it for career purposes. However you might want to learn Android app programming on the side because there are lots of cheap old handsets and tablets on the market. If you ever get into electronics tinkering, they make great controls for your systems.
