I just installed Ubuntu. What should I do with it? Any apps I should know about?
>apps
Just go back to winblows
Is what a normal /g/ user would say. Edgy huh?
Welcome to linux. Ignore all the hate you will get and start by looking up some tutorials to get yourself at home in the terminal.

Use it?

Time to get emulators.
Oh fuck. I just noticed you are running it in a vm. Get rid of fucking osx man. Its a walled garden. Just take the cold dive into linux. Its the best way to learn

VM doesn't count. It's useless. Remove it.

It's not a big deal

Depends on your purpose
There is no reason use Ubuntu Desktop if you have OS X.
>installing Linux on a VM
I'd say to get the most out of a Linux experience, you should running it as a primary OS and not on a vm, it's the only way you'll force yourself to learn the ins and outs of a disto and see if it's for you or not
Otherwise you'll fiddle around with the vm for a couple of hours then delete it and never give Linux another thought again

Pretty much this, I'm trying to do my shit in a VM in Windows but most of the time it just feels annoying.

The only reason one can justify the outrageous price of a Mac is MacOS. Why on earth would you spend all that money just to install Ubuntu in a VM?

Kek.
You couldn't even figure out how to setup a dual-boot for Ubuntu.
I think it's time to give up.
learning the terminal is a waste of time. if you ever need to use it google will tell you what to type anyways

Wouldn't that necessitate you learning the terminal at some point? Unless you're saying that you can't learn by repetition
This thread is bakas.

Don't use standard Ubuntu with Unity
Use Ubuntu Gnome instead
