Try ubuntu, mint, or manjaro for a while. When you get tired of those, and need more custumization then install gentoo.

Install VirtualBox on your windows machine then create an Ubuntu vm with it. Use this for ~2 weeks. Don't fear the command line, it is just a tool to help you and you'll be fine copy and pasting commands from tutorials and guides online. Don't use WINE (runs Windows programs on Linux) on the VM because it will run like dogshit. Expect to fuck up and nuke then reinstall a few times, it's how everyone else learned too.
