Why?
>>
Thank you Russians
>>
>>62010734
Well, I think that there are people from other countries besides just Russia that are also working on it.

>12.15 Custom 32-bit Build (with Patches applied)

but the last version is 12.18
why should I use this one? and what patches?
>>
>>62010891
1. The patches make it work better than v12.18.
2. Check http://forum.timsky.ru/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=138 for the patches that he applied to the source before compiling it.
>>
>>62010891
>but the last version is 12.18
No shit, that's not the one that was leaked though.
>>
The ciphers that were added to 12.18 will be available in the custom build in a few days/weeks according to the guy that is getting v1.0.1 of OpenSSL integrated into Opers 12.15's source code. The reason why it'll take a while is because Opera's implementation of OpenSSL isn't agreeing with the upgraded version. So, he has to manually go and fix all the issues before it can be made into a patch.

but you posted yourself in that forum 6 hours ago
>It just crashed on me. Here's a link to the crash log (archived as a ZIP)

so much for "make it work better", go shill your l33t 2013 abandonware somewhere else, kid.

is this before they went full chrome?
>>
>>62010974
1. Isn't that the case with all software? Fix some things, but something else breaks. My hope is that my reporting will lead to it not crashing as often.

2. Its not abandonware if one or more people are working on it.

3. I am not a kid. I am a 31 year old man.
>>
>>62011001
Yes
>>
>>62011000
I also am looking forward to that and it fixing the random secure connection failures.
>>
What's the best Opera version that offers a balance between properly rendering pages and 0 chrome bullshit?
>>
>>62011103
12.16, 12.18 if on Windows
>>
>>62011113
Thanks

This source leak is my last hope, I am desperately waiting for someone to revive Opera so that I can jump ship from Firefox. I know it's unlikely that it will be maintained, especially not forever, but I still have some hope that the internet will provide.
>>
>>62011002
and yet you can't seem to grasp the fact that this whole thing is a meme and at best it will be Palemoon tier aka a single threaded buggy mess that either hangs when you visit some random social networking site, or has to be restarted every 8 hours because memory leaks and everything is just laggy.

you should try at least 20 different alternative browsers and see that many teams of devs tried and failed to keep up with the current internet webpage trends. this is why normies use chrome and shit, because it just werks, we are no longer in 2005 where literally every attempt at a browser offered the same experience. you either have a lot of cash and man hours to throw at a project like this or you get btfo.

I'm sorry but it's just another skiddie tier haxxoring pet project for online resume streed cred and nothing else.
>>
>>62011180
Nobody expects this thing to work perfectly, it's just people making their favorite browser more usable. Any work from what it currently is is still an improvement no matter how little. It's already been ported to officially unsupported platforms and is being updated to fix issues with the latest official release.
>>
>>62011215
>Nobody expects this thing to work perfectly
ofcourse not, but I think these colossal efforts to revive some dead browser should be used for actually useful stuff, for example there are many abandoned linux packages on various distros that need maintainers.
yet another browser is so unnecessary.
>>
>>62011336
Opera's too good to let it die when we finally have a chance to do something with the source code. I've been looking forward to this for years.
>>
>>62011343
>Opera's too good to let it die
textbook case of nostalgia goggles, have you actually used 12.x on today's websites?
I think Windows2000 was awesome too, but I really don't want a shit ""modern"" Windows2000 clone just for the sake of too good to let it die.
>>
>>62011375
>textbook case of nostalgia goggles, have you actually used 12.x on today's websites?
Yeah, I use it daily.
>>
>>62011410
Same here.
>>
>>62011336
I couldn't disagree more, the state of web browsers right now is terrible, this is a welcomed initiative.
>>
>>62011410
>>62011453
>>62011410
>Yeah, I use it daily.
and it's shit.
>>
>>62011375
>Hey guys we're updating Opera to work well with the modern web
>>don't waste your time on that
>why? it's good
>>it doesn't work well with the modern web
?
>>
>>62011526
>Hey guys we're updating Opera to work well with the modern web
have a look at the issues, it's like five years of work until 2017 modern web.
>>
>>62011523
I disagree.
>>
>>62011545
Mozilla is pushing features that will set them back about 5 years so it might balance out.
>>
>>62011175

dont see many people putting dollarydoos down to make it happen

dont see these threads lasting long either

i appreciate its just dissapointing...

t. ex opera guy... broke as fuck
>>
>>62012997
I'd rather see patches than donations to be honest, regardless of where they come from.
>>
>>62013404
I agree.
>>
>>62008118
But I already browse the web using Chrome. What makes the Opera client so special?
>>
Honestly, I think the effort is better put into projects like otter or vivaldi.
>>
>>62015776
Its faster and uses less RAM and Disk Space.
>>
>>62016440
It was leaked.
>>
It would be nice if someone could fix the crash mentioned at http://forum.timsky.ru/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=10754.
