I can't load the amdgpu drivers because I get a segmentation fault trying to compile the kernel module... truly an epic platform
And yes I am running the most recent bios firmware.
This is what I deserve for leaving Intel and nvidia

You may need to contact AMD for a replacement.
Core dumped.
werks on my machine
no, seriously, it works out of the box on boot from any distro, what the fuck are you trying to compile kernel modules for
>>62006936
Hey Linux brainlet did you read my post?
When you use gpu drivers it gets loaded as a module in the kernel.
>>62007067
>When you use gpu drivers it gets loaded as a module in the kernel.
you said,
>>62006746
>get a segmentation fault trying to compile the kernel module...
and I'm the brainlet?
like I said, literally werks out the box for me
>>62007099
After it gets loaded it needs to compile the updated kernel...are you illiterate?
Congrats on using linux successfully with your low iq

Buying AMD right now be right back

He isn't even using a Ryzen CPU

Are you really that retarded or just pretending?

But I am

Nice bait faggot

who knows

i think it means "direct rendering manager", not digital rights
>>62006746
You are running into 0x0 memory block problems, debug your X server, you probably failed at compiling it.
Is this*
Wayland doesn't have this problem.
>>62006746
>I can't load the amdgpu drivers
Is your kernel compatible? I'm thinking you are too dumb for this.
>>62006746
Is this bait ?
You arent compiling the module.
Why is it loading nouveau intel and modesetting on your amd/amd system ?
Did you do this on purpose ?
>>62008405
THIS
Its segfaults becaus the Driver is build against the anothee kernel.
OP get your shit together
>>62006746
thanks for beta testing
pffffthahahahhaa
>>62008405
>>62008563
works fine on fedora 26, OP what the fuck did you do?
>>62006746
>I get a segmentation fault trying to compile the kernel module.
How's this amd's fault?
If your compiler segfaults consistently, it's your compiler's fault.
op is a fagot
fuck off
>>62008615
>>62008405
actually wait, what's going on why do I have nouveau and intel loaded and not amdgpu, everything seems to work fine otherwise but should I be worried?
Lel, how will LOOnix users ever recover?
>>62008699
if you don't have a nvidia card nouveau won't be loaded, that might just be a list of possible supported extensions which will include nouveau
there's other commands you can use to check, which escape me - arch wiki might be helpful, but amdgpu should just work since it's baked into the kernel now especially on fedora, I've had to do nothing to get 3d gaming working on fedora for instance
Just run Ubuntu so shit works automatically.
Did you plug in the drive (and os install) from your Intel/Nvidia build into a new amd build
>>62008405
>>62008615
pic related, also fedora 26
>>62009153
for some context the 290x is rarely used under linux as it's for passthrough and is using the radeon driver for reasons unknown, although there's different amdgpu drivers for each architecture so that might have something to do with it, the tonga card is using amdgpu as verified by lspci: Kernel driver in use: amdgpu
>>62006746
Works for me, Windows 10 and Google Chrome!
>>62009153
>>62009231
welp according to lspci -v I'm also definitely using amdgpu so no idea what inxi is reporting
