I saved up to buy a fucking videocard that should have been under 300 bucks and its now at 500+ USD
When do you expect this meme to crash and all these autists to have their investments crash with them rendering everything useless?
>>
>>61993448
what card was supposed to be $300?
>>
unless there is some sort of huge flaw with bitcoin and digital currency as a whole, there isn't an end in sight. just buy a gtx1080
>>
>>61993475
Also if all the dormant coins in cold storage find a way into the market the entire meme coins economy would crash.
There's multiple whales hoarding enough BTC to crash everything several times over
>>
bitcoin miners aren't using gpu's

>When do you expect this meme to crash and all these autists to have their investments crash with them rendering everything useless?
never, stay poor
>>
>>61993503

well your second statement needs some source on it to be viable. but there are stories of hard drives with several hundred/thousand BTC being lost. that aspect alone gives BTC value because it is just as fleeting as a wallet full of hundred dollar bills
>>
>btc is only $4080 right now
>was $4492 2 days ago
>crash imminent
>concerned pepe staring straight ahead while sweating.bmp
>>
>>61993524
There's been 16,500,000 BTC mined since inception.
At current price that's 67,635,480,000 USD
Do you know where all those coins are?
>>
>>61993566

like i said, people chalk that up to fried/lost HDDs. unless there is evidence that people are hoarding them and actually have access to them, then the market will remain stable.
>>
>>61993524
I don't have any sources (read: disregard the rest of this post) but it's pretty simple: Bitcoin isn't like other crypto where people pump and dump, there's a lot of people sitting on a lot of dosh waiting to cash out. Whenever they do, everyone's gonna freak because they'll oversupply with little demand and BTC will drop to fractions of a cent in value.
>>
>>61993448
Nobody GPU mines bitcoin anymore.

Also, welcome to capitalism.

Why yes. 1/3 have been lost in exchange crashes.
Bummer. but too fucking bad. Seems a bit risky
>>
Underage go
>>
>>61993448
Never dude. The better move would be putting that $300 in bitcoin but you don't have the grapes for it.
>>
>>61993448
>people trying to invest for the future and do something with their lives prevented you from being an epic gaymer bro
Lad I thing the universe is trying to tell you something
>>
>>61993749
You're right about bitcoin, but it's mostly people mining other currencies so they can sell to buy bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the meme coin that is the cause of it all.
>>
i had the same problem so finally i just opened a fake webstore using the name of a PC shop a few towns away that went out of business (it's not like there's a press release and front page news when a business just stops being open) and started accepting bitcoins for purchases at a modest discount, as part of a promotion

i sold a lot of graphics cards

then i bought myself a graphics card
>>

>trying to invest for the future and do something with their lives
>cryptomining
I have some bad news for you.

>>
>>61993524
man there are people who are just locked out of their account with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of bitcoin
>>
>>61994778
Remember when we all used to shit talk bitcoin on here when it was cents each then a few dollars, and then they created /biz?

And now what's it worth?

Best performing commodity of our life. Yes I'm salty I didn't hold those thousands of coins.
>>
>>61994888
I am salty too, but I still don't see crypto as being a worthy investment opportunity.

It is something we all missed the bus on. Buying into crypto now is a bad idea, you could profit in the short term but in the long term you're better off just going to a casino.
>>
>>61994959
This is totally untrue, there is so much potential and we are on the cusp of golden era.
>>
>>61993448
Miner/ Crypto hoarder here, if you think that mining bitcoin with GPUs is a good idea you are actually autistic, it hasnt been profitable for years.

just calm your man tits and wait for AMD and NVIDIA to release their rumored cards designed for mining with no I/O and less power usage, then there will be so fucking many cards on the market you can pick 4 1080s or vegas up for $100
>>
>>61994874
I got locked out of my mt gox account with maybe 12xx~ ish bitcoins, keeps me up at night.
>>
>>61993448
570 and 580 are slowly dropping in price, eth is stagnated and with the current difficulty RX cards are making $2 a day tops. whattomine says you need 6 480s to make $10 a day.

The prices will prob reset around or just after the holidays
>>
Damn I remember the hardcore bitcoin shills on /g/ in 2012-2013. Thank you shills; my salvaged 30 btc from the mtgox disaster have paid for half of my apartment this yeat
>>
want to upgrade so I can play battlefront 2 in November - current card is about 7 years old - but all I can see in stock is the 1050ti. Do it? Or wait?
>>
>>61995782
just finished syncing my cold storage System, looks like i am going to move out of my mums house and into my own house afterall
>>
>>61993448
doesn't memecoin minibg have diminishing returns ?
if so when can we expect them to stop breaking our balls and leave vidia alone ?
>>
>>61994888
by the time /biz/ was made, bitcoin had been at around $1500
/biz/ needed to be made to keep the shitcoin of the hour advertising go away
