Is it worth it to overclock my 3570k and buy a new cooler or should I invest in a new cpu?

im pretty sure a new motherboard and cpu costs way more than a cooler. not to mention having to buy overpriced ddr4 ram.
it depends on what you want to use it for

Buy a better cooler. Even stock I don' t think you have a cpu bottleneck.
Buy a cooler, you can usually get conversion adapters so you can keep it for your next build

get a decent air cooler, cm 212 or equivalent but don't go ham or buy a liquid cooler unless you plan on delidding, ivy bridge is the first of the goo chips and the delta between die and his will be your thermal limit once you start cranking clocks and voltages. That being said, 1155 is still a strong gaming platform paired with fast ddr3
https://youtu.be/DxGge0tR4IM is a good watch to compare gaming performance. I'd say ~4.2ghz should be easy with a 120mm HSF and ~4.6 with a delid and a bigass hsf or 240 aio.
