Although that might just be a sign of declining QC and wildly varying battery lives across similar devices, I won't know unless I have access to at least several random MBPs form the same year

I had to use a pro for 3 weeks
The best battery life I ever saw was 9 hours with only iterm2 running nano, yes I used nano for 9 hours to write
Meanwhile firefox drops that down to 4 hours, and that drops further if you're playing a video or have more than 5 tabs open
Chrome generally did a bit better at 5 hours.
Safari is garbage and manages to be somehow worse performing than SeaMonkey and qutebrowser.
There's no fucking excuse for this.
Not only is the touch bar useless, it gets in the way while typing, and having to look down to use function keys is torture.
The trackpad isn't bad, but there's really no point to it being so comically huge.
The keyboard is fine for typing out a password or something but for actual writing I always had a keyboard connected, ridiculous for a supposed "desktop replacement" machine.
But the MAJOR issue with this heap of shit is the heat. I made the mistake of thinking I could use a demanding CRT filter on retroarch and the dumb fucking thing sounded like it was gonna take off to space. After 30 minutes of playing A FUCKING PS1 GAME it shut off to stop from overheating.
