You write a file with HTML + CSS. It's pretty easy, and in ~7h you can cover both of them. While I dislike Codecademy, their tutorials on HTML + CSS are prety good.

Historically, that's what em is used for, yes.
In CSS, em is the font-size in the current context. It's pretty clusterfucky to explain. Basically, the visitor has his font-size set to either a custom size, or the browser default (usually 16px for normal text). That means, that 1em = 16px in that context.

If, however, you have a div, in which you set the font-size to be 2em, then a margin-right of 1em will be 32px.

It usually takes a bit of practice to understand it properly, which sadly means that most pajeets and hipsterfucks don't bother with it. But it's definitely a base for learning proper responsive design, and understanding CSS in general.

Looking through this thread I feel like that dude in the Fountainhead. You guys design some really nice stuff, but goddamn is there a lot of wasted space.

My "homepage" is just a link to an HTML file on my SSD called "Bookmarks." It's just some divs with h3 tags and inline lists. Everything is default font and there's a small 20px icon next to each item so I can recognize them without too much focus. It looks like something from the 90's and no one would ever pay for it, but it just works.

How did you guys learn to design such sleek pages?

Is there any extension that manages to focus on the input field instead of the browser's search bar?
I added a autofocus attribute to the input tag which works when you load the site manually but not when a extension loads it. I don't care if it's for Chrome or Firefox.

You could either:
- rename your papes as numbers and pick a random number (all papes need the same extension tho)
- declare an array filled with your papes paths, select a random one
Then fade the selected pape with CSS
