What are your thoughts on this /g/?
https://cs.nyu.edu/trackmenot/
Been running it for like a year.
Enjoy having captcha not load because Google thinks you have malware

seems to be loading just fine

Almost sounds like a honeypot... I highly doubt a browser extension written Js or some shit can block connections.
>>61971274
thats not what it does though, it basically sends random search requests to fool search engines and trackers
>>61971287
now that is interesting, but all it will do is give u ads to weird shit.
>>61971342
But you're blocking ads, arent you anon?
>>61967880
I use it in combination with AdNauseam.
https://github.com/dhowe/AdNauseam
>>61971342
not if you use adblock
are there alternative to trackmenot that are open source?
>>61971369
all adblockers do is basically hide the ads when the page loads. Also ads can still come through mail and email as well. Everyone know google sells search engine information when you are logged in. At least I will be marketed to correctly instead of getting weird ads. The only solution is to find some way to block your history but that isn't happening.

>but google sells my info
not if you use adnauseam
>but i'll get weird ads
not if you hide them with adblock
where's the problem? use both idiot

>but i'll get weird ads
>Also ads can still come through mail and email as well
>not if you use adnauseam
>AdNauseam works like an ad-blocker (it is built atop uBlock-Origin) to silently simulate clicks on each blocked ad, confusing trackers as to one's real interests.
>silently simulate clicks on each blocked ad, confusing trackers as to one's real interests.
Google will still sell that info and will count each ad as a click... it is worse.
>>61971372
Probably
>>61971371
Also, That AdNauseam seems interesting. Can I use it together with uBlock?
>>61971518
>Google will still sell that info
if they could sell that info they wouldn't block adnauseum in chrome
>>61971545
it will probably work but it seems to be a fork of uBlock so I would just use something other than ublock instead
>>61971545
>Can I use it together with uBlock?
no need. it is uBO
>>61971547
Thats the thing though, google _can't_ sell that info to advertisers because its garbage info and google can't do anything about it.
You're basically feeding google garbage info to devaluate it real info, advertisers will pull out once they realize they are paying for fake clicks that dont generate revenue.
