Guys I got a Galaxy S7 today and was loving it, then about 2 hours ago I decided to water test it, that was one of the great pluses that it was rated IP68 water resistant.

Well, I filled up a saucepan with tap water and dropped it in, noticed I couldn't unlock/use it under water so I took it out and dried it off and opened the camera and then put it back in the water, and couldn't take pictures. So I took it out and dried it off and left it at that, it was still fine until about 10 mins later it started turning itself off, wouldn't start up etc. so I freaked out and got a hair dryer and went at it, it got better but the camera kept failing, I shook some water out and dried it again. For the last hour it has been working fine but the camera failed and then worked fine again and no problems since.

What the fuck guys? I had it in about 3 inches of water for 10-20 seconds and it fucks up? Should I leave it in rice over night? Can I return it if it doesn't fix?

Every review I've seen so far mentions that the camera cutout becomes a non-factor almost immediately since most apps don't use that space for anything, and for the ones that do it doesn't obscure any important content.

I'll grant you that removing the headphone jack will irk many people, but if you think it's "ridiculous" from a market perspective then you clearly haven't been paying attention. Not to drink their marketing koolaid but Rubin set out to build the "essential" phone of the future, not necessarily of the present. That means that lots of people now will be peeved about some choices, but take another look at it in 5-10 years and those choices might end up seeming a lot less ridiculous than they do now.

In theory yes, but in practice the difference it makes over the lifetime of a phone is small enough that's it's not worth it to try to "religiously" follow that rule. Keep in mind, by always keeping your phone between 30-80% you're losing (not using) 50% of your battery's capacity out of the box. So charge your phone whenever you can (it's definitely not harmful!), but don't go out of your way to avoid full charge cycles either.

Like the other guy said, heat is the worst enemy for a battery's health. So try to keep your phone from overheating.

i have an mi5s..when on MIUI, battery is mediocre, camera quality is excellent, it certainly warms up on those usage.
When using Lineage OS, battery is superb installed with the custom kernel in XDA paired with the CPU gov tunings, camera quality is SO BAD as usual, overheating is practically nonexistent on heavy usage.
