Give me one genuine reason for not using Perl.
Python exists
Emacs
It's write-only. Fun for code golfing, though.
My cat writes perl syntax when she plops on my keyboard xD

it isn't readable by anyone including you a few days after you wrote it

Reasons to not use perl:
1. You hate making loads of money.
2. You enjoy working with python's convoluted `subprocess` nonsense instead of using simple backticks.
3. You are a brainlet that can't into advanced regular expression usage. Backreferences are something you've never understood.

Perl makes money?

just do a search for "perl" on any job site, there's a lot of money in perl expertise.
>>61965146
it's a disgusting language.
>>61968721
Why? I thought Python was replacing it
>>61968750
They need people who understand nonsensical perl scripts written 15 years ago
>>61968750
Get real, anon. Nothing ever gets "replaced" in the real world, we just add more.
Python can't even replace python 2.

What are some "perl jobs" that don't involve legacy code or sysadmin stuff?

Training people in Perl, who are obviously going to do jobs that

What's the best for security, Perl or Python?
