The vega proved disappointing as an upgrade from my Fury. My

I had AMD cards from the 6000 - 400 series; now also running a 1080ti. It's been good to me so far, the weirdest part being that all of the extra tools and settings are locked behind the 'geforce experience' botnet. Also, new drivers were exciting when I had AMD cards because they would always improve performance, but with Nvidia they don't seem to do much and break some things (some random applications have the shadowplay fps counter in them for some reason now).

Like what? You can use nvenc without it, cuda SDK is a thing. Could you be more specific?

Setting up profiles for specific applications or games, accessing Nvidia's screen recoding application and configuring automatic driver update checks / downloads. I was used to all of these being available to me up front in AMD's driver software.

Still can be done via nvidia control panel (nvcplui): 3d settings > manage 3d settings > program specific; or via external applications, like nvidia profile inspector.

Yeah, but I think it's bad idea to auto update every time new driver release/more choice to you.

But I get you point it's sad that will probably obsolete nvidia control panel in future by "bundling" GE as part of driver.

As a Fury (non-X) owner myself, Vega seems like an alright upgrade and I'm in no rush. Going to wait for the AIB card launches before making a decision.

i can afford to spend another 300 bucks on a card that gives 20-40% higher performance depending on the game. But i see your point of view.

That's something I've noticed as well.
From what I've been told, Nvidia polishes up their drivers before launch.
So any gains after are like 2%

A non X fury is not that much slower Than a 1070.
And the 56 is $500
It's not really worth it
