What is this, 1997? Get a 4TB SSD, poorfag.

My 5 year old 500 gb Seagate laptop hdd died and I replaced it with a 9 year old 350 gb western laptop hdd which still works fine. My samsung portable hdd with seagate also died after 1.5 years. It's just a personal experience though, maybe it will be fine for you.

depends, do you want to keep that data for a longer period of time without the drive dying or do you want to have more room for storage?

HGST He12 is the only right answer.

The only hard drives I've ever had fail were seagate, 2tb barracuda in particular. I'd go with WD.
