Why can't any other phone processor creator match the single thread performance of Apple processors?
Are they using hacks IRL?

Apple used to own ARM so maybe they know something the others don't

It's not the hardware, it's the OS
iOS can't do nothing, but when it does something, does it fast; Android does everything, but does it "good enough"
Nowadays mobile OS are utterly shit, I just thing that Android is the piece of shit that doesn't sink in this big sea of diarrhea. Let's hope for Fuchsia

An OS that is tailored to specific hardware, android can run on a smartlightbub[citation needed].
Indeed let's hope for fuchsia.

Can't? No, it's simply a shit idea vs just having a multicore processor. Kind of like how it'd be a pretty shit idea to make one engine cylinder work at 40'000 RPM rather than 4 at 10'000 RPM.
The thing is just IOS is bad at handling more than one core becuase it's design is shit, so Applel had to do this.

Single thread performance is still dominant for the performance the end user gets regardless of the platform being used.
Web browsers, games, emulators, social media apps, etc.
>>61932236
No. Dozens to hundreds of threads are running on the average Android phone. Most apps that need performance are actually pretty well multithreaded, and the rest goes to the many apps that can be running in background.
That IOS has not been designed as a multitasking OS from the start even though this has been an *end user* PC feature from like Windows 95 onwards is simply sad.

>Hoping for a most likely closed-source Google botnet OS
Of all botnets to cheer for, too…
>>61932299
Yeah let's see how well emulators run on your 8 core piece of shit droids
>>61932360
I've seen people play just fine on PS2 emulators and such toys like 3-4 years ago already.
X86_64 wasn't super fast to emulate though, but I don't recall that being fast on IOS either. The geeks who did tech demos with that almost all used Android.

Fuck Google in their botnet! Sailfish is our OS now.

Everyone else uses Qualcomm chips, and Qualcomm is slower than Apple at implementing new CPU architectures in their chips.

So what's the difference for emulation?
>>61932174
It is actually the hardware, but of course the tailored software plays a role as well.
