For me, all drugs are detrimental to productivity. I drink coffee out of addiction. Weed and alcohol instakill all programming ability. Stimulants (e.g. amphetamine) let you skip sleep at a game jam, but it's risky, because you become easily distracted by music, Youtube, etc.

As someone who had an ephedrine addiction for a good year, do not go down this path. It took me well over two to get asymtopically back to normal.

Diet and exercise is the only long term solution. Nowadays I just drink green tea constantly until midday then water. Shrooms/LSD can be lifechanging if done right, for good or worse; just avoid stims and opiates.
