What's good secure email?

I'm in the middle of buying a protonmail account with the plus plan so I can use my own domain name. I figure it's more secure than me setting it up myself on a private box.

Suggestions?

Best is to hide in relatively normie email services that are harder for law enforcement of your country to get to.

There's a specific breach has reffereing to where some dumb drug trafficking nigger got caught when he sent emails to a non-encrypted client. Wasn't Protonmail's fault he was using an inherently insecure communications medium to do awful shit. Protonmail is the best for the services it offers, the encryption is mostly placebo if you realise nothing you're sending _to_ is going to keep that encryption. Better than Gmail that which would actively spy on you, Protonmail just wants you to get a membership which I do for multiple addresses. They don't want or need your data to keep running, unlike Gmail, Yahoo, Microsoft Outllok etc.

Forgive the other post.

I don't have anything to hide, to begin with I was looking for an email provider which would let me use my own domain name for sending email. It'd save me the trouble of managing my own email server, which may be just as insecure as the rest. I've been using gmail for along time now, but I'd like to use my own domain for private, serious stuff. My gmail is filled up with all kinds of subscriptions and it's too spammy, but I need to be on those subscription lists.

Anyway, it worries me that signing onto e.g protonmail will put me on some list. I'll be putting my family members onto this service as well.

But I guess there's no way to get around that? No matter what "secure" provided I choose, it's going to be suspicious or something?
