I'm having trouble finding this information in the archive. Making privacy and security the priority, I'm trying to decide what the best browser/addon setup is. So far, Waterfox is winning me over, although I've seen Icecat proposed as the one god tier browser, so I feel like I must be missing something.
I was previously using Firefox with HTTPS Everywhere, Ghostery, ublock origins, umatrix, adblock plus, adguard, privacy badger, and Hoxx VPN. Ublock origins, umatrix, and Hoxx VPN (or another free VPN) seem indispensible. Not sure how much the rest overlap or whether they're truly private. For example, Ghostery seems both compromised (tracking me) and redundant with umatrix, so I ended up letting that go. And I've seen some HTTPS Everywhere is unnecessary with umatrix but others disagree.
What's the optimal browser with the best addon setup for privacy, avoiding redundancy?
Ungoogled Chromium, friend

start with a hosts file so you have baseline blocking of everything
then ublock for adblocking, with some form of anti-adblock protection
decentraleyes, privacy badger, redirect/referral fixer and cookie whitelister
any browser that supports this combination should be fine

You're missing the fact that all forks of Firefox are placebo autism.
>HTTPS Everywhere, Ghostery, ublock origins, umatrix, adblock plus, adguard, privacy badger
You only need uBlock Origin, uMatrix and HTTPS Everywhere.
>Hoxx VPN
This is probably a botnet.
>And I've seen some HTTPS Everywhere is unnecessary with umatrix but others disagree.
Probably people who think that the strict HTTPS setting of uMatrix forces a website to always load HTTPS but this is incorrect. What it does is if you load 4chan is HTTPS it won't display any content that originates from HTTP.

and also NoScript, and blender, then go in your about:config and do this https://pastebin.com/raw/T8TeepZP
>Free VPN
I use Windscribe, it's awesome. Also a free 50GB bandwidth coupon code out there somewhere if you look.

Also install "Tree Style Tab" if you like browsing a lot of sites at once.
