What was once an excellent browser, has been seeped into a bloated and cancerous monolith.
Not even going to start. Everyone knows this is a terrible 'browser'.
Honestly, haven't really tried it, should give it a shot. Probably ok. Still do not trust it. Needs to be FOSS.
Hey man, I'll contribute. I like Chrome, but that's simply because I am a fan of Google services. It's pretty appealing to the eyes too.
Just my opinion.
>inb4 botnet, etc
I understand where this board comes from with this tracking stuff (sci native, plz no bully), but the convenience provided by shit like Windows and Google stuff is just nice to have. Especially if you are a student, programmer and work at financial institutions. (me)
I recently tried installing Debian, and other opensource stuff but I couldn't get Debian working on my laptop, nor was I really interested in giving up the convience.
Just feel like I'm picking between the lesser of two evils.
Jesus Christ, I've been up since 5am.
Yeah nah fuck off cunt
I literally only chose Waterfox over Pale Moon because it automatically imports all of my bookmarks and add-ons from Firefox. When I was playing with Pale Moon, I didn't hate it though, so it's whatever you feel comfortable with.
Do you even understand economics?
Explain how opensource is communism when you arent forced into anything?
people who dev for open source do so willingly and the gpl protects that from being abused by corporations
Exactly the opposite of communism..
its actually closer to socialism in reality
Thanks to mostly this website, now there are several variations of furries, many that are not as bad as the proto-tumblr shit of the old.
But then there are the full-tumblr furries now that are even worse.
about:config is a autists best friend.
I would if I could install chrome extensions, and their script blocker would let me selectively choose which scripts to allow ala NoScript.
As it is, however, its a shit browser. Which is a shame, because I WANT to like it.
Protonmail (Swiss based, routed through Israel), Tutanota (based in Germany), Disroot (Based in the Netherlands), and Mailfence (based in Belgium) are all encrypted and free.
There are other options, but they all cost money. Also, I know for a fact that Tutanota and Protonmail are both open source. Don't know about the other two.
You can add custom scripts/domains to their adblocker. It's literally AdBlock Plus. I think you access it with about:adblock. But ABP is shit, and having no option for uBO means the browser is shit.
I was never denying that they needed UBO. I was saying that even if they HAD UBO, it wouldn't be a good browser. They need to allow extensions from the chrome store (like Decentraleyes), and more fine-tuned controls regarding Scripts.
If a browser needs extensions instead of coming with basic functionality out of the box then it's a shit browser. The only other thing I'd add would be a media downloader (like download helper) and decentraleyes, integrating both.
Well, then, by that qualification, all browsers are shit browsers. All Brave would get over literally every other browser is pic related.
Firefox any day.
To be honest I don't see much difference in their usability (I like FF's addons though), but Firefox has the friendliest license and the least botnet. Plus, you know, used it for a pretty long time.
