Just got this on Amazon for $140 (only 55" tho)
No idea about the estrogen factor - what part(s) contain formaldehyde? Basic gestalt?

Look into butcher block countertops.
Solid wood, and typically inexpensive if you buy them from the warehouse.
I know Floor and Decor stocks them. $150 for the top, then you can get some legs and attach them.
great, one more poison in the environment to worry about
thanks globalists

Are you sure that it's real wood, and not that mdf shite that separates after a few years.
>>61859673
It is particle board - not ideal but as I'm sure you've noticed there's not many solid wood options available at this price point.
It'll be here Monday - pray for me

as long as it's engineered wood you're gonna have cancer causing formaldehyde. Are you sure that table top is real wood?

only see 60x30 at the smallest

You're more likely to have formaldehyde in traditional wooden desks than the IKEA ones that you posted because IKEA adheres to strict regulation and follows the California standard, even in countries with lax regulations.
Whereas local furniture shops tend to skirt regulation because of their reliance on formaldehyde heavy compounds like wood glue.

Is there a home depot, or lowes around were you live? Wood isn't that expensive, and diy-ing a table is almost as easy as assembling a premade one.

Diy. Get a slab of wood, 4 precut posts of the same size, a few nails, and a hammer.

Then you're still fucked. Particle board contains formaldehyde, also it will deteriorate and swell if it gets wet.
If you got free time, go to a lumberyard, get some rough hardwood.
Then visit a workshop and joint/plane it. Now you have perfectly square wood that just needs to join together (glue) and fasten unto your frame.
No more cancer.

These look real nice. I just found a 4 foot top for $119.00 online. Legs are about $5-$25 each, nails/screws aren't much, and maybe a little more for lumber reinforcents isn't at all wallet breaking.
TFW A solid, and attractive table is doable for under $200.

Containing guess-what?
Hint: F-word.

I got this desk. It's solid as fuck. Obviously, it's particle board with polyethylene veneer. At the sub $200 price point I don't think anything comes near. To get something on Ikea that looks similar is roughly $300-$400 shipped.
The legs on this table are solid as absolute fuck.

go to ikea.
kitchen section. ask them to cut 24x60 butcher block.
go to office section, get 4 sets of legs. screw it on.
if you're a burger, better go with legs than screwing it on the wall, because paper walls.
hahahahaha.
>>61859172
make a desk. it would be much cheaper
by five 2x4s and a big sheet of plywood
four 2x4s for legs and one 2x4 to nail to the back of the legs of the desk to keep it from collapsing.
Try eBay or antique shops?
Depends on the style you want too, personally i'd rather go for something mid-century
One wildcard to try is Etsy.
