Is hotdog a sandwich?
>>
Is there a way to have a certain application display at a resolution different than windows?

e.g. I have a 1440p monitor but everything is too fucking tiny in firefox. I'd like to keep the desktop and everything else 1440p but lower firefox resolution to just 1080p or something smaller
>>
>>61848855
I would argue that hotdogs resemble tacos more than sandwiches.
>>
I've been having problems with my external drives being where my computer says "cant access drive". one i tried formatting but it doesnt format, the other have damaged sectors apparently, any helps going about this? at one point they do get recognized but i fucked up and accidentally pulled out the usb cord. if i must send these in for new ones i want to at least try and get my stuff off and wipe the drives
>>
>>61848876
Only if the application supports it. Windows cannot into application specific DPI scaling, only global DPI scaling.
From what I've read, it takes some minor config editing to get Firefox specifically to scale and look normal. There's also other options, such as
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fxdpi/
However I cannot test and verify if this works for you.

Not quite. I would recommend looking at different applications to suit your needs. While driving, I've found Spotify's playback control menu is fairly large.

>>
is it better to buy a cheap used ps3, or get some old prebuilt for double the price? plan is installing something like dream studio
>>
>>61849202
maybe.
depends on your phone and what you want from it.
lineage os for example has a shit camera on my s7 edge but it is freedom friendly.
it may be unstable for your phone on the other hand. you need to try to see if you like the rom and switch if you don't.
you keep google away by not installing gapps packages (google apps) on top of your custom rom (supposing it is not based on the stock rom and doesn't come with gapps itself).
then you use free alternatives for gapps
fdroid instead of google play
newpipe instead of youtube
k9mail app instead of gmail app etc.

So I have this 16x2 lcd display for my raspberry pi (which only uses 4 pins) and I can download examples that print text and shit. All well and good.

I'm having significant difficulties getting it to display the degree symbol (just to test how displaying temperatures will look). Declaring at the top of one of these python files something about it being utf-8, it prints some weird Chinese symbol instead of the one in the source code. Pic related, it's the 1100 0010 symbol.

Why?
>>
Is there a difference in image sharpness when running a monitor in VGA compared to DVI/HDMI or am I just being a retard?
>>

It's possible. VGA is analog and thus interference has a greater effect on it.

>>61849762
It's a novelty thing and due to the small selection it'll be harder or sometimes impossible to find your favourite fetishes or actresses. But since the phone glass things cost only a few bucks you won't lose much by testing it.

if you look at http://kuukunen.net/robots.txt it disallows crawling of /toh/.

Concurrent programming is useful when you have a lot of calculations to do, and you'd like to do them along side each other to minimize the time it takes, right? And threads or multiprocessing can be used for that, yeah?
Now I have a program that makes tons of HTTP GET request to a server. Sequentially, it takes forever, so I want to do it concurrently.

Not really. Half of them have been replaced by better successors, half have been replaced by much shittier successors, and the last half is just discontinued.

The only ones I can tell you about are G400 (superseded by G403, a worthy successor and one of the best mice out there), and G700 (superseded by G700s, which is officially discontinued but can still be found everywhere (e.g. on amazon), and has fantastic wireless with the option to remain wired).

Depends on how the server detects spam. Most reliable solution is to get a ton of proxies and throttle the requests from each of them, so that the server thinks it's a whole bunch of different people making normal requests rather than one faggot spamming it.

Remind you of anything? That's how botnets work.

I think so. I'm a scrub so I used Samsung's drive cloning utility when I got my (Samsung) SSD, but I don't think it did anything particularly fancy other than, well, cloning my HDD.

For best performance, though, it's always recommended to do a fresh install. Windows 10 licenses are fiddly but I have never heard about an disk swap invalidating one (if anything, changing the mobo is more likely to screw you up).

is there samba for windows or something?
i've got no wifi adapter in my pc, and i don't have the possibility to connect the pc with the router using an ethernet cable

so, i've connected my android phone to my home wifi network and then connected the phone to the pc through a usb cable
this lets me enable usb tethering on the phone, and the basic feature works, ie. the pc running windows 10 can access the internet (i wouldn't be posting this very post if it wasn't the case)

now, there's a smb/cifs/you name it share on the network hosted on a windows 7 pc
the local ip is like 192.168.1.123
i can ping that address fine, i can also telnet to the host on the port 445 (smb port) and it does make the connection just fine

however, when i enter
\\192.168.1.123\
into the win+r box and press enter, it always shows a pop up after some 20 seconds, pic related

so now that windows' built in tools have failed me (big surprise)
do you know if there exist some third party smb clients for windows which won't use native windows functions to access smb shares, but rather make the connection itself over some sockets or stuff

i mean, the protocol was pretty much reverse-engineered, there's samba on linux which lets you access the shares and such
what do i do
>>
>>61852331
Settings and tweaks build up over a long time, doesn't mean it will take long to recreate them. If you don't wanna go through the bother of listing all your tweaks and re-applying them though that's understabdable.

I heard samsung's tool is pretty good but I honestly have no idea. I mean it worked for me, so I don't know what else you would want from a disk cloner. Alternatively get a linux live usb, boot into that, and use dd to clone.

Why would you need to update the bios if its boot-looping?
If you see the windows logo trying to boot, its just that the new motherboard is incompatible with your old windows install, make a fresh install.
If it doesn't show anything on screen then you need a 2000 or 3000 series cpu, another 4000 series won't work.

Listen for a pattern in the beeps and read your motherboard manual to see what they mean. They're called beep codes and pretty common
>>
>>61852950
The running time is basically 3n, so it's in O(n) because constant factors are ignored.

For O(n^3), you'd want something like
for i in (n):
for j in (n):
for k in (n):
do something
done
done
done

And incidentally, if you repeat the program above 3 times sequentially, you get a complexity in 3(n^3), and since constant factors are ignored, that will STILL be O(n^3) (and not O(3n^3)).

It's exactly like setting one up on a physical machine, but he hard part is networking to it. You need to bridge a virtual connection to physical if you want outside machines to access it as well.

I can code it, I'm just stuck finding a game that fits the guidelines:

Sample projects have been “Connect Four”, “Hangman”, and “Rock, Paper, Scissors”.

>must be targeted at a specific age group from one of the following:
5-9, 9-13, 13-21, 25-35, 40-60, 60+

>The game will be graded on appeal to the selected audience, completeness and gameplay.

I've been relying on the Lifehacker pack as a cheatsheet but it seems like they're not updating it anymore.

software for what, and what os? what's wrong with whatever software you're already using?

Bought a used memepad and have two questions.

1) I would like to splice the power brick directly into my 12v DC source. I've done this before with an alarm clock but my first attempt popped my inline fuse. I don't want to risk messing up my laptop so how do I figure out which line is negative/positive?

2) I want to keep the win10 it has but will mainly be using GNU. What can I do to refresh win10 to make sure I'm not carrying over any viruses?

Windows. Software for anything really, more of a place to look for quick recommendations when needed.
Current one is still fine but it'd be nice to see if there're any new ones that came out since the last time I checked.

I just want Python Crash Course: A Hands-On, Project-Based Introduction to Programming
>>
>>61860676
I don't think that's going to work. I seem to recall thinkpad power supplies have some kind of DRM in them or some shit.
>>
>>61860767
This doesn't seem correct but thanks. There must be a way to 12v to 12v

I don't use Google's backup feature on my phone, I have back up and sync disabled. But I was moving a picture and I accidentally hit back up instead so now it's been trying to back up this photo for hours with no progress and it is really annoying. I restarted my phone and it started back up. I forced the app to stop but when I open Photos it starts back up again.

If you're looking for a crash course I would just go the freeware route. Python for informatics or something. It's listed on coursera and it's p good.

Ausfag here
My internet at home is suddenly really slow over the last few days. I have FTTP NBN;
I know it's NOT a case of having exceeded data allowance;
Resetting the router didn't work;
Resetting the NBN box restored speed very temporarily;

Is this an issue I need to contact my ISP about, or NBN co?

Alright i cheeked both of them anyways, the round one has a yellow and red cable inside, on the PCB yellow is marked as GND and red is marked as V+.
On the square one i have a black and a white cable, the black cable is market as GND, the white cable is labeled VOUT, see pic related.

i understand that you want to use an alternative DC source to your charger right? if so then you want to cut the thinkpad connector and wire your source in place.

Thanks friend! Huge help. I'm not sure what you mean by round and square but I think I can figure it out once I get the wires exposed based on what you posted. I also have a multi tester or whatever but I forgot how to use it. Yes 12v battery to the laptop which I'm assuming is 12v as well. I have a power inverter but it burns too much juice.

>12v
Noooooo
Thinkpads are 20V and 65W ~ 90W.

And pic related is what i mean between square and round.
>>
>>61860994
Oh wait you cut the brick huh? I see... I think o_0
>>
>>61860994
Thinkpad laptops have used 20VDC power supplies since 2005. I'd double check before hooking it to only 12 VDC. Even if the internal DC supplies can operate that low, your current will nearly double.
>>
>>61861035
Oh... square. 20v then. I need to figure out a way to step up from 12 to 20 instead of 12 to 120 to 20 then...
>>
>>61861061
Look on Lenovo's site for a 12VDC power adapter for your model. If it exists, feed it from the battery.

I just installed lineage 14 on my droid 4, everything is working flawlessly, except for some reason any file I attempt to download in Firefox fails. The downloads work in the built-in browser, but not Firefox. How do I fix this?

Try using old drivers, if they don't work try using really old drivers, if they don't work RMA your card. Crashing under high workloads is a sign of a dying card

Have you initialised it correctly?
