Im considering flashing an open source BIOS onto my motherboard.
The machine is a linux server running a baremetal hypervisor (Xen)
Im working with a ms-7778 jasmine motherboard, which has a ROM recovery jumper and I can download the necessary ROM from hp to recover with should I brick it.
Anyone have any experience using any open source BIOS?
Coreboot, Libreboot, OpenBIOS, what can people tell me about these?

Does coreboot support your motherboard?
If not then give up.

none of them list my motherboard as supported.
I shoudn't even try then, huh?

I use Coreboot with SeaBIOS on my ThinkPad T400. I like it.

No, you should not try. If your motherboard is not supported then fuck off.
Sadly is not encouraged to flash an unsupported motherboard.
But good news! My T500 is supported :^)
Be prepared for the situation that you brick it. It may happen.
