Gonna nitpick just a TINY bit here. I wouldn't recommend a fullsize (100%) mechanical keyboard to anyone. That's a bit of a personal preference, but I prefer 60%, and 80% is okay if you're not ready to change your lifestyle a lot. When you go down to 60% you get a lot of cool stuff. Mots boards are programmable, there's the obvious smaller footprint, and due to cost-savings on the smaller board, you often see cool things like aluminum bases being used (this raises the price a bit, but to around the same price as a bigger board at the worst).

The main advantage, though, is comfort. I really like switches with a high actuation force. I like a nice thick click as I type. I love the sound it makes. It's honestly really fun just to type. I've always loved typing, so mechanical keyboards appeal a lot to someone like me. If you don't care much, it's probably actually a bad hobby to pickup. You'll suddenly crave $100 keyboards instead of $10 keyboards. I think there are some normie-friendly benefits like the keyboards technically lasting longer, or helping prevent RSI and such, but I don't think that's realistically a major issue.

Mechanical keyboards used to be cheap and easy to get until hipsters started to spaz out over MAH PARTICULAR COLOR SWITCH KEYBOARD IS BETTER THAN YOURS bullshit when you all found out about mechanical keyboards and keyboard makers started taking advantage of your stupidity.

They're all about the same to me. One's just louder and has a different feel (a "snap" rather than a "press" action, different, not better). Really no point in getting some overpriced hipster keyboard made for idiots when a cheap one works just fine.

this keyboard is actually garbage

I've got one at my house and it feels really fucked up. We got it with clears and it feels mushy compared to another board we have with clears. I think the Pok3r is a way better deal even if it costs a tiny bit more.

>>
>>61830013
I have one with Clears and the switches aren't fucked up but the firmware causes chattering and both firmware they have available don't fix it
>>
>>61830052
I've talked to a few people online and it sounds like some of the earlier V60 boards were just actually defective and caused the less pleasant feeling. It's still an okay board, but it doesn't feel good and I think a good mech should feel good. We still have stock caps on it and haven't tried a switch swap or a teardown, so maybe it could be fixed.
>>
>>61830038
sure it doesnt have rings? when i got mine it felt like rubber dome and the nigs at the factory had put rings on it
>>
>>61830067
It doesn't have o-rings, but on that subject, I also hate o-rings. My brother also got a code keyboard and chose to have them put them on. Ended up leaving them on the stock caps when putting on a new set and it feels way better.
>>
>>61830085
Oh, one major thing I should also mention. Mushiness aside, I really don't like the layout (compared to the Pok3r). I prefer where the pok3r but the fn arrow keys, and I don't like having a set of fn arrows on wasd. If I'm playing a game like Binding of Isaac that uses wasd movement and arrows for actions, I would have to rebind something to play that with the v60, or I'd have to let go of fn while moving and thus not be able to move and shoot at the same time. On the Pok3r they don't have any binds on fn wasd (unless you update your firmware, then I think they added media keys for music).

Topre is good but I prefer old ALPS and it's much cheaper
cherry is shitty clicky (too high pitched, sounds like crinkling plastic, because that's what it is) shitty tactile (barely any bump, even in clears and browns feel like shitty linears) and acceptable linear (gateron is better, and ALPS is better than that, don't know about hall effects)

I use a 36" x 24" mouse pad with my G900 wireless and 75% keyboard, it's pretty comfy. There's enough space to do flick shots in any direction without having to re-center your mouse hand, it's a bit overkill in size but I don't mind, feels good not being afraid to flick past the edge of the pad.

Well, they are wrong.

But the poser thing... well, most people simply very rarely meet really good players and then they get all sorts of ideas how a silly gimmick totally helped them. They do usually win themselves, right?

And when they end up meeting actually good players, they almost always think they found cheaters. Anyhow, they're wrong regardless.

Some old keyboard that came with my first computer at least 8 years ago (not mechanical)

I was considering buying a mechanical one after trying out a friend's, but when I looked at the reviews for some they were apparently all fragile or broke after two years.

I don't think I can ever justify spending more money for a less reliable product.

Do you know what switches you want? I'm not a huge fan of browns, I'd go with blues or reds

Nonsense. Neither mechanical nor rubber dome keyboards break quickly at all.

The life span of either type of keyboard generally really isn't a problem.

If money on this scale is a big problem, maybe you better keep using a rubber dome.

eh, i havnt had a chance to try them side-by-side, but as long as its mechanical.
actually, which ever feels the most like a model m would be best i think.

All of them have some reviews complaining about keys, suggesting that quality control must be low.

If you can recommend something better than these, I'm all ears. I want brown or something similar, the numberpad, and I don't care about LEDs.

apparently green switches were designed specifically to emulate a model m
>>
>>61832094
Green switches are the same as blue switches, only heavier. I don't think they're available on Ducky keyboards
>>
>>61832034
They complain about everything, including this:

And other keyboards that like a gazillion offices use.

I'm pretty sure the 4/5 keyboards from your lists are going to be overwhelmingly fine. Even the /csg/ chinese keyboards are overwhelmingly fine.
