It's not a true dual SIM solution, only one SIM is active at a time. It just makes it so you can switch between them without having to swap out the SIMs.

You sure? I had a adapter like that for my g3 and it was smart enough to let both sims function. Like if I was on sim 1, I could still get calls on sim 2.
Pretty much exactly how it is today with my zuk z2, running dual sims.

If you look at the pinout of the adapter, you see it swaps the pins around a bit, so I'm pretty sure this is all built up into the spec of simcards from the start.
