Is Computer Engineering a meme like Computer Science? Is it worth the 5 years even though I wouldn't be a liscensed engineer after (no board exam)? Should I shift to EcE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) instead?
Also, we are going to learn C next sem, any tips? I'm thinking of buying a 2nd hand thinkpad for coding, should I go for linux although I need the MS Office?

ok i'm a singlefag
If you want to go into Computer Engineering for you may as well go into Electrical Engineering for your degree and then pick up some coding to pad your resume (do some GitHub projects or find a entry-level coding job)

A good engineering program (of any kind) should include some programing anyways.
But yes, EE is the best choice.

EE is kinda too taxing for me because 3 board exams plus there's only like 3 people taking it. So it all comes down to CoE and EcE unfortunately. But I heard I could actually take CoE and study 2 more years for an EcE degree too (total of 7 years) but seniors recommend getting a master's instead of finishing 2 courses.

>3 board exams
Where is this?

You are fine. Most interesting computer problems are solves either by CpE or theoretical CS people.

I disagree with many of the people saying EE is a better choice. I can say first hand that EE is not superior to CE and actually CE degrees seem to ultimately lead to higher paying jobs in the end and at least for the school I attend the CE majors seem to be better rounded than their EE counterparts. Obviously I'm generalizing, but I genuinely believe CE is a very good option and possibly better than EE depending on what you're looking to do.

I'm currently taking CE at UWaterloo, so I may be a bit biased, however I think with CE you get the best of both worlds of EE and CS.
Do you really need MS Office? I have never used it so far in my program. Linux is extremely helpful to learn before they start teaching you.
