I've noticed that very often pretty, eye catching software tends to be botnet, and that safe FOSS software is USUALLY ugly as shit
Why is that?

Because they usually spend money on designers to make it look good, and so the best way to make money back is by selling your data
Programmers make the worst UI designers, so most FOSS stuff looks ugly as hell
competent designers aren't autistic enough to do it >for free

Doesn't really take more than a month or two to get good enough at design that it isn't appalling.

especially now with the whole flat design meme
KDE looks pretty good imo

OpenKeychain is free software and looks good too.
>>61807251
I guess that's because FOSS devs use GIMP.
>>61807501
That's actually not a flat design.
>>61807611
I mean it's only one desktop theme that does all of this for me. I could go for a cleaner install though since I was testing a bunch of DEs and themes out.

I said usually you retarded autists

Because FOSS focuses primarily on being functional. It doesn't matter how it looks as long as it works well. There's a reason why it's so widely adopted for use in things like severs, super computers, robotics, and space stations. It's reliable and it works as intended.
