They're free, and quick to install. The distro doesn't matter that much, just get yourself a comfy setup and start using it.

I've tried Ubuntu, xbuntu, Debian, arch, fedora, Mint, Kali, Gentoo, Manjaro, Zorin, Tails, and openSUSE. Arch was a bitch to install because I had problems with my network shit, took 8 hours of downloading and installing everything, in the end I felt accomplished.
